Good Shot

Seeing no reason why you should lose
Seeing no reason why I should win
Places taken within the lines of battle
Let the games begin

With the flick of the wrist
Another point has gone
You say it was in
I’m hoping it was long

Praying on my weaknesses
I know I have a few
The same shot again and again
Knowing exactly what to do

I’m running backwards and forwards
While you’re standing still
Before I blink an eye
The score is five nil

Making the same mistakes
I’ve got to learn
The sweat on my brow
The calories burn

Feeling like a tortoise
Losing against a hare
Keep looking over your shoulder
One day I might be there

About markious72

Here I wish to let my strange and vivid imagination and opinions run wild. I do hope you like what you read. I would love to be a writer, I won't pretend otherwise. Although it is only in the last couple of years that I have realised it. I guess if it meant to happen it will. Happy reading, happier writing. :-)
